Planned Giving 2026

Picture

How much do you give? How much can you give? What can you give to your parish?

These question aren't necessarily what you think they're asking. While financial support of the parish is of course critical, people's time and talent are even more valuable. People make parishes. In light of this, perhaps ask yourself these questions again and you may begin to understand where this 'giving campaign' is heading.

Over three weekends listed below, the parishes of the Coventry and Nuneaton Deanery are undertaking a giving campaign, each campaign will be different according to the needs of the parish.

The main emphasis of our 'giving campaign' at Saint John Vianney isn't asking parishioners for more money, rather it's asking you to be smarter in making your financial contribution by means of a Direct Debit/Standing Order and signing up for the GiftAid scheme which allows the parish to reclaim 25p of tax for every £1 donated by UK tax payers at no extra cost to the donor. The GiftAid benefits to the parish are massive. We will also be asking parishioners to consider making more use of the MyDona machine in the entrance to the church.

Aside from the financial implications we will be asking parishioners to register or update their details in the new parish census, and informing the parish of any special skills and talents or how they would be willing to help the parish.

Please see your individual contribution and those of your family as of the utmost importance to securing the future of our parish community.

With my thanks

Fr. Alex Taylor
Parish Priest
