Statement from the Catholic Bishops' Conference - LINK

Welcome

Welcome to the website of the Catholic Parish of Saint John Vianney,
located in Mount Nod, just on the edge of the City of Coventry.

THANK YOU

I would personally like to thank all the Stewards, Altar Servers, Cleaners, Maintenance, Flower Arrangers, Johanne, Andy, Mac and Michelle for all their hard work they have done in what can only be described as an extraordinary year and all it has entailed.
I would especially like to thank all the Parishioners who have stood by the Parish
this year and for all your kind support and good wishes this Christmas season.
Finally, I would like to thank Fr Emmanuel and Fr Bengt
for all their unwavering support and kindness.
I pray that next year we will all be reunited and can return to Church.

May I wish you all a Happy, Holy and Prosperous 2021.

Fr Sebastian

PLEASE REMEMBER:
IT IS NOW MANDATORY FOR A FACE COVERING TO BE WORN WHEN ATTENDING PRIVATE PRAYER.

Make an Act of Spiritual Communion–  This can be done whilst you watch a live stream of Mass being offered.
You can make an act of Spiritual Communion by saying the following prayer:

“My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.”

Sacrament of Reconciliation
The Sacrament cannot be celebrated over the telephone or by conference call. A pastoral conversation and reassuring prayer may of course take place by these means. Requests for individual confession are very difficult to meet, given the demands of staying at home, social distancing and church closure. Priests must refuse such requests for these reasons.

An Act of Contrition

My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart.
In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good,
I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things.
I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more,
and to avoid whatever leads me to sin.
Our Saviour Jesus Christ suffered and died for us.
In his name, my God, have mercy.
